Cinnamon Apple Bread
Ingredients
Batter
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup salted butter melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup sour cream
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
2 cups peeled and finely diced apples (toss with 1 tsp cinnamon and 3 Tbps brown sugar)
Swirl
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 cup chopped nuts pecans or walnuts (optional)
Drizzle Icing for Baked Apple Bread
3/4 cup powdered sugar
3 tablespoons whole milk (you can use 2% but it will be more runny)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
*Start Pre-heating the oven early! You want the oven to be at 350F for at least 10 minutes before you bake the bread*
Batter Instructions
Whisk together the flour, salt and baking soda in a large bowl. Add white sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, sour cream, buttermilk and eggs. Mix well with a spoon. Fold in diced apples. Spray a 9 x 5 bread pan with cooking spray and add the batter.
Swirl Instructions
Mix together the swirl ingredients and spread on top of the batter in the bread pan. Take a knife and swirl into batter.
Bake in a well preheated 350 degree oven for 55 to 60 minutes testing with a toothpick to make sure bread is done in center. Let cool 10 to 15 minutes and remove from pan.
Topping Instructions
Mix together with spoon and drizzle over bread once bread has cooled.
