Cinnamon Apple Bread

Ingredients

Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup salted butter melted

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/3 cup sour cream

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 cups peeled and finely diced apples (toss with 1 tsp cinnamon and 3 Tbps brown sugar)

Swirl

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 1 cup chopped nuts pecans or walnuts (optional)

Drizzle Icing for Baked Apple Bread

  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 3 tablespoons whole milk (you can use 2% but it will be more runny)

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

*Start Pre-heating the oven early! You want the oven to be at 350F for at least 10 minutes before you bake the bread*

Batter Instructions

  • Whisk together the flour, salt and baking soda in a large bowl. Add white sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, sour cream, buttermilk and eggs. Mix well with a spoon. Fold in diced apples. Spray a 9 x 5 bread pan with cooking spray and add the batter.

Swirl Instructions

  • Mix together the swirl ingredients and spread on top of the batter in the bread pan. Take a knife and swirl into batter.

  • Bake in a well preheated 350 degree oven for 55 to 60 minutes testing with a toothpick to make sure bread is done in center. Let cool 10 to 15 minutes and remove from pan.

Topping Instructions

  • Mix together with spoon and drizzle over bread once bread has cooled.

Enjoy! Eat for breakfast, snack, dessert - is excellent with your morning coffee!
